Dresses, School and Chores

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't written in awhile. There wasn't too much to post on, over the summer.

A couple weeks ago, Anna and I finished our dresses! And they look so pretty :). We're planning to enter them in this year's block party, for the sewing competition, which is next month!

School starts back today. I'm just about ready, I think. I wonder what this year will bring, with projects and such.

The general store is going pretty well. I have to help out a bit this evening and we have to finish our braided rug. There's always chores going on. Mama says we'll be doing the harvest soon, too. That's even more chores! Oh well, hopefully it won't all be hard work and mama says maybe we'll have a bee, too. Either an Apple Bee or a Harvest Bee or something. That would be fun!

Outside of Star Valley, I'm hopefully going to visit the Mystic Seaport soon. Rebecca will be going, too, and we're excited! Marina and Liz went last year (along with Traveling Sophie) and they said it was fun. We're also hoping to go apple-picking soon, too :).

Also, Missy recently got my cookbook-now she make some of my favorite foods, like Cabbage and Apple Salad and Skansk Grot (Swedish Rice Porridge)-yum!

Well, I have to go but before I do, here are a couple pics of Anna and I in our new dresses:

Not Much Going On...

It's been awhile since I've posted, again. What's up with everyone? Auntie Jenny's Ruthie and Solana are visiting the lovely Star Valley...which is rainy at the moment...

Jess is trying to figure out what to do for her next web show episode. And Anna and I are still working on our dresses. At least our rug is close to being all braided. After that we'll just have to sew it all together and then we'll have a nice new braided rug for a cabin. We have a small one already.

Since I don't wear much in the way of modern clothes anymore (I do sometimes, still, but mostly wear outfits from my historical time period) what does everyone think of the new AG releases? Mischa said she wants the new jumper outfit (though minus the boots). Someone is getting the new backpack set (I can't remember who at the moment) and Mischa said she's getting new glasses. The lilac ones like to smoosh her eyelashes. She said that Sonali had to go to the eye doctor and needs glasses and that she wants a pair like Mischa's lilac ones. And that she's unsure about the idea of wearing glasses, even after she tried them on and liked them.

Anyhoo...the new backpack set means we'll have a new textbook to use.

There's not really much else going on at the moment...Caro ran out in the mud and got all dirty, earlier. Silly puppy.

April Ramblings

Hey guys,

A couple weeks ago, Anna and I finally started on our summer dresses! I can't wait to see how they turn out :) Mine has cute little buttons on the front. Mama is helping us with them. I have sewn a dress before (it was for Addy, last year) but haven't done much other than that.

Jess is still working on her winter fest web show episode. She had misplaced one of the tapes for awhile but found it last week.

School is going pretty well. We watched a movie earlier this week, which was fun. We also have a spelling bee coming up, in class. I'm going to study really hard. The winner gets a little ribbon, I think. So, it will be n-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-y to study in order to do well. See, I just spelled necessary.

Samantha, Hope and Rachel are having a small Easter party and they invited me; it's going to be a wonderful time!

Well, I have to go for now.

Until next time,
~Kirsten

First Post of 2011

Oh man, I haven't updated in awhile, haha. How is everyone's 2011 going so far? Things are pretty quiet in Star Valley right now. Sonali came here on Christmas. She has a twin sister named Solana, who lives on Water St. with Auntie Jenny and her dolls. And Nicki's cousin, Kanani, moved her a couple weeks ago. They're both pretty cool, I guess. I haven't really talked to them much, though Jess wants to interview Kanani, being that she's this year's GOTY. Sonali is in fifth grade (Grandlinda's Gwen is happy to see her again; they both lived in Minnesota together. Kanani is in the sixth grade. They both seem pretty trendy.

I can't believe that as of yesterday, it's been five years that I've been here already! Time sure does fly!

Anna and I never got around to sewing ourselves summery dresses last year, so we're really going to try to do it this year. We also found our braided rug that Jess and I started...a few years ago...*cough.* We have to work on that, too.

Winter fest was really fun last month. I did a cheer routine for the talent show that we had. It was a little sad not doing the Nutcracker selections again but we'll probably do it again in the future. It's too fun not to :) The Water St. crew joined us for the festivities once again, which was great!

Well, there isn't really too much going on at the moment. Mama and Peter have colds right now. I hope I don't catch it myself. They're drinking plenty of coffee and tea and resting under the blankets.
